A quick ride to IL

I mentioned this to Andy on Friday night and he expressed interest, but I think you, or anyone, even me, would be foolish to join me. I thought I'd let you know about it anyway.

I need to get in some saddle time for an upcoming race and think I'm going to ride the Badger State Trail for a little out and back on Tuesday night. Three hours out and approximately three hours back (that's 6 total). Leaving at 1800, back about 2400. I'm going strictly on time, not miles, but it should be about 90. I'll be riding the Big Dummy.

I'm planning on Tuesday because I have to get up early on Thursday morning, want to go the the B-Cycle gathering at Tex Tubb's on Thursday evening (the Capitol Peddler will be there!!!) and am going to the Willy Street Fair and then parking bikes on Saturday... and would rather drink on Friday night. Maybe I'll do it again on Sunday.

So there. Don't judge.

ALSO, this is from the guy who does the Bike Porn movies. I have no idea about the resources Madison has to offer. I'm out of town that weekend (9/20-9/24) but would be back for the Tue and Wed dates. Lemme know what you think.

Hi Stephen!

Yup, an appropriate venue is key. Sometimes it can be hard to find. The right place will help focus the audience's attention towards the screen (and stage if they have one) and will make the audience feel comfy for the duration of the show ~90 min (ie decent seating)

We have a projector and massive sheet we can use (obviously if the venue has one we don't have to use ours). We dont have the audio system.

And of course it would really help if you had some butts to put in those seats!

Alas our schedule is pretty tight. We can only do the show Monday-Wed Sept 24-26.

Finally it would be excellent if you or some other happy-go-lucky friend had room for the 4 of us that will be traveling together. We are not super pickey about our accomodations but there are two gals among our ranks that typically enjoy all the comforts of life. In exchange we would be thriilled to make you (or whomever hosts us) dinner(s)!! we have some pretty excellent cooks and have navigated many different kitchens.

Thanks for reaching out! I was bummed that Madison was not working out because we had such an amazing show there last year, but the students have not quite got into gear yet, alas.

in bikes we thrust,

ps I believe your wife said you were one of the SL,UT riders in the Lit Crit? Thanks for your support, that was one of the best mt bike movies we have ever shared!
